Routes and Itineraries

In our municipality of Caminha, there are four tourist routes available, which reveal the true history of the municipality, through its castros and castles, nature and culture, historic center and religious monuments. “

Castros and Forts of the Coast”, this route aims to make known the forts and forts located on the territory’s coastal cord.

In Caminha, the route includes a visit to Forte do Cão (Âncora), to the Dolmen da Barrosa, to Forte da Lagarteira (Vila Praia de Âncora) and to Moledo beach, from where you can see the Fort of Ínsua.

“Nature and Culture of the Coast”

This route shows the coastal protected areas and other spaces with some kind of legal protection. This route includes the two existing protected areas, plus Serra d’Arga and the coastal strip between Caminha and Viana do Castelo, including the Mata Nacional do Camarido.

The route in Caminha includes a visit to the Serra D’Arga Interpretation Centre, Miradouro da Fraga, Mata Nacional do Camarido and Praia de Moledo.

“Historical Centers of the Coast”

This route makes it possible to visit the Historic Centers of Viana do Castelo and Caminha, as well as Ponte de Lima. In the case of Caminha, the route includes a visit to Forte da Lagarteira, in Vila Praia de Âncora, a passage through the historic center of the medieval town of Caminha, and a visit to the Monastery of S. João d’Arga.
